The 2012 Harvard Men’s Soccer Team Wrote an Incredibly Sexist List Rating the Female Team's Recruits

The Harvard Crimson has recently revealed the details of what appears to have been a yearly list created by the men’s soccer team, rating female freshmen recruits on their attractiveness, with sexually explicit descriptions to match.

The “Scouting Report," which was written by a member of the 2012 men’s team, is nine pages long, and was originally circulated through the team’s e-mails on July 31, 2012. The beginning referred to the previous year's scouting report, saying that one female player had, as predicted, turned out to be the "hottest and the most STD ridden." This makes it seem like the report was an annual tradition, at least at the time.

The report gave each woman a number rating along with a paragraph or more describing her, and contained photographs stolen from the women's personal Facebook pages. Many of these descriptions were sexually explicit—for example: “She looks like the kind of girl who both likes to dominate, and likes to be dominated.” Each girl also got assigned a sexual position, and a nickname such as “Gumbi” because “her gum to tooth ratio is about 1 to 1.”

The author rated one woman a three, because she was “strong, tall and manly” and he “felt bad.” It’s no surprise that many members of that year’s team refused to comment on the list.

Robert L. Scalise, Director of Athletics, saw the document for what he says was the first time on Monday. He condemned the report, telling the Crimson, “Any time a member of our community says things about other people who are in our community that are disparaging, it takes away from the potential for creating the kind of learning environment that we’d like to have here at Harvard.”

Dean of the College Rakesh Khurana issued a written statement, saying, “As a human being, and a member of the Harvard College community, I am always profoundly disturbed and upset by allegations of sexism, because I feel it is wrong and antithetical to this institution’s fundamental values. …we must work together to build a community of which we can all be proud.”

CBS News reports that the Google Group used to share the list was, until recently, available to the public eye. While we can’t say we’re surprised, but it's just disappointing that guys would do something like this. On a hopeful note, Harvard Women's Soccer Team Coach Christopher P. Hamblin wrote to the Crimson that he's seen a "huge shift in the culture of the men's soccer program" since men's coach Pieter S. Lehrer started in 2013—So it's possible the "scouting report" no longer happens on a yearly basis.

Miley Cyrus Clarifies Her Relationship Status With Liam Hemsworth

If you had any doubts about Miley and Liam's relationship (how could you after their chemistry in The Last Song?), fear no more. Miley recently addressed the engagement on Ellen.

When Ellen brought up a photo with the engagement ring that's been getting a lot of attention, she straight up asked Miley if she was currently wearing the ring, to which she said yes.

"I actually—this is really weird because this is like real jewelry and most of my jewelry is made out of gummy bears and cotton candy, and they don’t look that good together ’cause they kind of mix up," Miley said. "So sometimes I like replace it with an actual unicorn or a Looney Tune. And he’s kind of like what’s going on? 'Well,’ I am like, 'This isn’t really my aesthetic, but I’ll wear it because you love me.’"

There you have it—Miley and Liam didn't break up; engagement rings simply aren't her style. Ellen joked that he could've saved a lot of money by buying her "a gummy bear ring or something." (Miley, we'll take the ring if you don't want it...)

So when's the wedding?

College Student Who May Have Sexually Assaulted Dozens of Women Had Notebook With List of Potential Victims

A student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has been accused of stalking and sexually assaulting dozens of women, and is expected to be charged with over 30 counts related to sexual assault. Think this story can't get any worse? The student, Alec Cook, kept at least one journal at home which contained the names of potential victims, TIME reports.

Cook, a 20-year-old from Minnesota, was first arrested after an attack on Oct. 12. But after that report, dozens of women came forward with their own stories of assault at his hands, on campus and at his off-campus apartment. The second woman to come forward said, “I saw the news story and was empowered by another girl being able to tell what happened to her, that I thought I could now finally tell," according to The Washington Post.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that one victim dated Cook from January to February, and believes he drugged her drink in February before sexually assaulting her.

Police have four solid cases against Cook, with multiple other investigations in the works for attacks dating back to last year. One case has no less than 15 counts of sexual assault associated with it; the victims has said that Cook touched her inappropriately throughout a ballroom dance class they took together.

Police think that Cook is likely responsible for even more unreported attacks due to his list of victims, which police say details how he met each one, what he likes about them, and what he wanted to do to them—ranging from sexual desires to murder. Cook has been banned from campus, and is expected to be charged with more than 30 criminal counts on Thursday, including felony sexual assault, false imprisonment, and strangulation.

Chris Van Wagner, Cook’s lawyer, suggested that while many accusations have been made, there has been nothing proven. “On behalf of Alec, we will have plenty to say, at the proper time and in the proper forum. But keep in mind that not everything you hear is true, and that in the past few years, several grave accusations in similar cases were later proven groundless.” And how many rapists were released after a slap on the wrist? (The answer is too many.)

According to the Post, Van Wagner is disturbed by what he calls the “media firestorm” on social media, where multiple individuals have written open letters to Cook. Van Wagner claims that this prompted others to come forward. “Much of what has been reported on there has been, for lack of a better expression, character assassination of my client,” Van Wagner said, with no regard to the assassination of his victims' sense of self. "Those things are horrible things to be accused of..." he added—and yeah, they are horrible. That doesn't mean he didn't do them.

On Friday, Dean of Students Lori Berquam issued a statement denouncing sexual violence. “This is a serious case and the university is responding,” Berquam said. “We are committed to providing supportive and prompt responses to students who have experienced sexual assault.” She went on to offer many options for students that are victims of assault, which is more than many schools have done of late. “Students have many options and services available to them on and off campus, including mental health counseling, victim advocacy, off-campus legal assistance, and access to the criminal and campus disciplinary systems. Services are available to victims regardless of their choice to report the incident and several are available at no charge.”

Woman From Iconic National Geographic Cover Arrested in Pakistan

Sharbat Gula, the woman whose face became a symbol for Middle Eastern and South Asian refugees when she was on the cover of National Geographic in 1985, was arrested on Wednesday for identification card fraud, according to The New York Times. Her arrest took place in Pakistan, the nation directly south of Afghanistan, where she was likely fleeing the rampant violence in her native nation.

It's common for Afghan citizens to obtain such identification in their efforts to leave the country because of war. Gula got her illegal Pakistani ID in 2014. However, she still held on to her Afghan passport, which she used for the hajj, or the pilgrimage to Mecca that is a religious requirement of Islam.

Gula had been under investigation by Pakistan’s National Database & Registration Authority since early last year.

Gula’s cover was unforgettable after its publishing, and renewed discussions about refugees and their rights, and was subject to the romanticization of the Western gaze. In a later profile on Gula, her eyes from the original cover are described as “haunted and haunting, and in them you can read the tragedy of a land drained by war.”

There has been much reporting (false and otherwise) on Gula since the appearance and popularization of her image in the media. Gula was originally photographed around the age of 13. Steve McCurry, the photographer who first took Gula’s picture said in a statement that her arrest is “an egregious violation of her human rights," according to the Times. “I am committed to doing anything and everything possible to provide legal and financial support for her and her family,” he said.

Students Held a Racist Bake Sale to Protest Affirmative Action at University of Texas Austin

Yesterday was an...interesting day at University of Texas-Austin for members and spectators of the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) at the school. In an attempt to protest the role of affirmative action at UTexas as well as the policy in general, a bake sale was held that sold cookies at varying rates based on the race of the person purchasing them.

YCT apparently thought their mission was noble, and wanted to educate people about the dangers of affirmative action. “Our bake sale with have a tiered pricing method intended to illustrate this disastrous policy that demeans minorities on our campus by placing labels of race and gender on their accomplishments,” the event description for the bake sale reads.

Okay, let’s jump right in here. This protest by the YCT wants to make people think that affirmative action is "demeaning" because people get certain opportunities because of their race or ethnicity. But it totally ignores the fact that non-white people are subject to systematic and social treatment that makes it statistically more difficult and less likely for them to receive or even have the chance to receive higher education. Affirmative action seeks to remedy that, and it doesn't mean that the people who get in because of it are any less qualified.

They also didn't seem to realize how demeaning it is to tie racial groups to certain monetary prices, especially given the racist history of the U.S.

Thankfully, there are plenty of students at UTexas who understand this and were not about to let this protest go on without making their voices heard. Approximately 100 other students showed up to the bake sale to protest, and the infuriation with the event was expressed all over social media.

Rozes From the Hit Song 'Roses' With The Chainsmokers Talks Life, Love & Mental Illness

When Elizabeth Mencel was growing up in Philadelphia, PA, she never imagined that one day she would be performing at Coachella, on Jimmy Kimmel, and hearing herself on the radio. But when she started skipping her classes at Temple University to write songs with the notorious Chainsmokers, things started to fall into place for her. Now, Rozes (as she calls herself) has become a universal sensation and the powerhouse voice behind the Chainsmokers hit track “Roses.” I got a chance to hang out with Rozes in New York City to talk life, love, and mental illness—and you are going to love what she has to say.

How did you first get into music and when did you know that that was what you wanted to do as a career?

Rozes: I was born into music; it really was a family thing. And so I started playing piano at a six and then the violin and then saxophone, clarinet, and guitar. Like it just all started to snowball from there. But with playing piano and guitar, I learned how to play all my favorite songs and I loved that. Actually, I'm pretty sure the first song I learned on the guitar was Wonderwall and I would play it at all the bonfires like trying to be the cool kid. And then at one point I went through a really bad breakup and music seemed to be there for me when I didn't feel like anybody else was. So before I knew it I was skipping my classes at Temple University to write songs with The Chainsmokers.

Were people always supportive of that decision or did you receive backlash?

Rozes: I think by the time I made the decision, I didn't care what other people thought. So I I was prepared for people to say “are you sure? Like is this really what you want?” But there are only certain times in life that you can pursue your dream and sometimes it's when you're young. I know in this industry there really is an age when you're in your prime and it's hard to see how to build your way up if you miss that. So you've got to start early, I guess. I always knew that I could go back to college but I couldn't restart my music career. So it was now or never.

Your music video for "Under the Grave" premiered on Marie Claire last week and besides being incredibly beautiful, it is also very personal. Are most of your songs made up of personal experiences and moments?

Rozes: My songs are always, more or less, about my personal experiences. I mean, "Under the Grave" obviously is about my own experience, but I've been drawing from a lot of my friend’s relationships and things like that because I've seemed to hit a spot where I'm steady in my relationship and completely in love. So right now it's fun to draw from my friends and the struggles that they've been facing.

Going off of that, you talk a lot about female empowerment on your Instagram. Can you tell us a bit about your thoughts on women in modern society?

Rozes: My definite stance is that women belong in positions of power and I don't think that anybody should be denied a position based on gender, race, or sexual orientation. You know, regardless of who you are or where you came from we should all have equal opportunities. And I think that a lot of the world has been denying women of that; of having the same opportunities and maybe at this point it's not even intentional. Within the music industry, for instance, I could see so many things being so much easier by just being best buds with somebody you know, but as a girl, it's hard to do that because there's a line that people are afraid to cross.

You also talk a lot about anxiety and depression. Do you think there is still a negative stigma in the world around people who suffer from mental illnesses, particularly women?

Rozes: Oh, definitely. I think that a lot of people see me as unstable and most of that is through my songs. But to me, it's a feeling that a lot of people don't admit. And that's why I'm here. I want to be here for that girl, the girl that I was. When I was a girl, I couldn't admit that I was sad for no reason and it's something that needs to be talked about.

Serotonin. Because you can have happiness even when you have anxiety & depression

A photo posted by ROZES (@rozessounds) on

Do you have any advice for people who are also suffering who haven't gotten to that that place yet where they're comfortable talking about it?

Rozes: Write in a diary. Definitely write everything down and know that nobody's going to judge you for you saying that you're sad even when life is so great and awesome. It's a feeling we have all had and it really sucks.

What kind of things do you do to treat yourself if you know you're having a bad day or just having a breakdown? How do you feel better when things feel so dark?

Rozes: Honestly, I play music. A lot of people ask me what my other hobbies are and literally, in my free time, I will sit down and write music because that's my hobby. It's my career and my life. It's my first love. It's just everything to me.

You can watch Rozes talk about her favorite celebrities, inspirations, and more below—and stream "Under the Grave" on iTunes and Spotify now.

What You Need to Know about Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server

It seems like no matter how much time passes or how many votes she got in the primaries, Hillary Clinton just can’t seem to escape the controversy surrounding her use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State. While Clinton’s email scandal has been in the news for months now, the intricacies of the issue are hard to pin down.

Breaking the controversy down, here are the main points of Clinton’s ongoing email scandal explained:

Why Clinton used a private email server and how it was discovered

Last March, in the midst of the Benghazi Committee’s investigation into the attack of the United States consulate in Benghazi, Libya that resulted in the deaths of four Americans, it was discovered and then widely reported that Clinton had been using a private email server during her time as Secretary of State. After the Benghazi Committee learned about Clinton’s use of a private email server, Chairman Trey Gowdy and then Speaker of the House John Boehner asked Clinton to grant a neutral third party access to her server so they could determine what data should remain private and what should be made public.

Clinton later said that she used a personal email server because she did not want to carry around two devices and because her predecessors had done the same. While many politicians have used their own personal email addresses during their terms, Clinton’s case is different because she used her own server located in her home instead of using one provided by the state department.

Why Clinton’s use of a private server is a problem

In July 2015, the FBI began reviewing a number of Clinton’s emails and found that some of them contained classified information. Having emails containing sensitive, classified or top secret material on a private email server not maintained by the government posed a possible security risk, according to the State Department.

Additionally, Clinton’s use of a private server meant that her emails were not being archived by the State Department, as was the common protocol under the Federal Records Act, legislation that exists to ensure transparency and record-keeping. Therefore, if someone were to file a Freedom of Information Act request for some of the information contained in Clinton’s emails, the information would not be readily available because it was not in government control.

Much of the unrest over Clinton’s private email server comes from Clinton’s lack of transparency and accessibility. Since her emails were housed on a private server out of the hands of the government, she made it look like she had something to hide. Therefore, she is often perceived as untrustworthy by the public.

Why didn’t Clinton get charged criminally for using a private server?

James B. Comey, director of the FBI, said in a press conference that Clinton was not charged because she and her colleagues did not purposefully violate laws governing the handling of classified information. However, the FBI did find that Clinton and her colleagues had been careless in the way they handled classified and sensitive information. Additionally, the FBI found no evidence that Clinton’s server had been hacked, but also noted that direct evidence of hackers would be hard to find.

Comey recommended that the Department of Justice not pursue a case against Clinton because her actions were not severe enough to warrant criminal charges.

“In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts,” Comey said in a press conference last week. “All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.”

What does this have to do with Wikileaks?

Not much. Wikileaks recently released thousands of emails hacked from the personal Gmail account of John Podesta, Clinton's campaign chairman. While the private email server is discussed in the leaked documents, it was not Clinton's account that was hacked.

7 Things You Should Do Now If You're Graduating This Semester

For most college seniors, the time to start freaking out about graduating is when spring rolls around. But for those who are graduating in December, the stress starts now. Before you start the rest of your life, make sure that you have made the most of your college experience by doing these seven things.

1. Apply for graduation

This may seem fairly obvious, but for students who are graduating during an out of the ordinary time, this step can get missed fairly easily. Although it varies by school, it is typical for schools to require that students apply to graduate during a specified time period. For example, if you are graduating after fall 2016, most schools have the application period open from June 2016 to mid-November, or even late October. So to make sure you actually are going to graduate when you think you are, go to your school's academic website and check out the requirements.

2. Go hard with the student discounts

In a few short months all those discounts that you have grown to love are going to be gone, so take advantage of them! Whether that is a local bar or an online shop, save money by purchasing all the things you need (or maybe just want) now. Sarah Kolin, a graduating senior at the University of Michigan, is a firm believer in taking advantage of student offers. "Ever since I finalized that I was going to be graduating early, it really hit me that in a few short months I can kiss my student discount at Top Shop goodbye," she says. And frankly, that is never an easy goodbye so you might as well stock up now.

3. Try out a new student club

After four years or maybe even three and a half, there are probably a lot of incredible things that you have gotten to be a part of on your campus. But most likely, there are still some activities you haven't tried. "For me, graduation is in a few months and there is still so much I feel like I haven't done," says Allie Teperberg, a senior at Cornell University. "My campus has a hip-hop club that I never even knew about until this month and now is my last chance to meet some new people while doing something I love." Just like for Allie, now is the best time to try something new and maybe even step out of your comfort zone a little bit. What do you have to lose?

4. Touch base with old professors and advisors

As it gets closer to the moment where you walk across the stage, you might be feeling pretty grateful for the experiences that you have had. In fact, there are probably a lot of people you want to thank besides your parents. Beth Haymaker, an academic advisor at New York University, believes that networking and touching base with old professors is an important thing to do before you graduate and leave the campus community. "Throughout your college experience, you build really great relationships and meet some amazing people," she says. "But once you graduate, those people are not as easily accessible. If you have built relationships with professors in the field that one day you hope to go into, it is important to maintain that relationship." That starts with getting coffee and thanking them for everything they have done.

5. Meet up with your freshman year roommates

Although your senior year friends may be very different from your freshman year friends, it might be good to see them and talk about how much has changed. Reflecting on your past can help you grow in more ways than you could ever think. Becca Taylor, a senior at New York University, definitely understands this first hand. "When I was a freshman I had such different friends than I do now," she says. "But looking back, those relationships were still a big part of my life." For Becca, seeing them again was a nice reminder of how much can change.

6. Assess the relationships in your life

While you should be doing this at any stage in your life, when you graduate you really are ending one chapter of your life and starting a new one. For many, this also means starting fresh with friendships and relationships. Leaving college and entering the real world is not easy, but it's exceptionally hard if you are still holding on to relationships just because they remind you of the good old days. Melanie Brock, a senior at Vanderbilt University, knows that once she graduates, she wants to try to leave her college life really behind her. "I have made some incredible friends here but when I look at my future, some of them are not the people that I know will always be there for me," she says. Instead of wasting time on trying to hold those relationships together, she is going into the workforce ready to make new friendships.

7. Think about what’s next for you

This may seem obvious because you are graduating and moving on with your life, but for many, the next step is really freaking scary. Do you go to grad school? Do you take a year off and travel? Do you enter the workforce? This is something you need to think about now. For many graduate schools, the deadlines have already passed and if you haven’t yet taken the necessary exams to get in, you may be behind. "If you don't already know what you are doing after graduation, you should probably have a meeting with your advisor," says Haymaker. Figuring out your next move is crucial, because "once many students graduate and go home, it only gets harder for them to move back out" and live on their own. But after you have a plan and figure that out, the rest is easy.

So while graduation may seem like an eternity away, the next few months are guaranteed to fly by. Whether it's reflecting on all the relationships you've developed or maxing out your credit card with student discounts, it's important to do everything you can before you graduate. Entering the real world is scary, but with a little preparation it'll be a piece of cake.

27 Ways Your Sex Life Changes After College

You know the saying: "You don't know what you've got till it's gone"? Right about now, that's how you feel about hookups. Gone are the college days of bedroom-hopping or hosting trysts in your dorm room. Now that you've graduated, it's gotten a whole lot harder to fit sexy time in with your 9-to-5. Here are some other ways your sex life is struggling.

1. Late-night booty calls get replaced with late-night delivery calls.

Both cases involve you trying not to run to the door like a hungry madwoman.

2. You long for a salary as high as your sex drive.

If so, you'd be swimming in cash. Preferably naked with an SO.

3. Masturbating has become a crucial part of your nightly routine.

Nothing like some self-lovin’ before a good night’s sleep.

4. You fantasize about sleeping with every cute person you come across.

The barista, your coworker, that Disney movie character…

5. Dry spells are no longer a joke—they are ruining your life.

This must be what it feels like to be in the desert with no water.

6. You spend more time checking your dating apps than your email.

Exchanging numbers with strangers is basically networking, right?

7. In truly weak moments, you set up profiles on sketchy matchmaking sites.

No one can know that you “experimented” with Special Arrangements.

8. Reminiscing about past hookups is physically painful.

It's 2016. Has no one seriously invented a time machine by now?

9. You consider joining a support group or creating one for sexless singles.

Guidelines: bring cookies for eating and tissues for crying.

10. Dancing becomes your second favorite physical activity.

If only you had someone to bump and grind with in the bedroom.

11. Your friends are constantly snapping you out of inappropriate daydreams.

How do they expect you to have a conversation in your condition?

12. You think about applying to be on a dating reality show.

MTV True Life: Not Getting Laid Sucks

13. But you settle for watching lots of R-rated movies instead.

And not just the scary ones…

14. At bars, you care less about the drinks and more about the crowd.

Who here looks like they give a killer body massage?

15. Flirting goes from being a skill to a competitive sport.

MUST MAKE OUT WITH HOT STRANGER BEFORE ANYONE ELSE DOES.

16. Since you don’t go out as often anymore, every second counts.

If this were a frat party, you’d have five options in three minutes.

17. You can no longer tell the difference between socializing and seducing.

You’re the queen of the shoulder-touch-and-eye-contact combo.

18. And when you do finally get it on with someone again, it feels amazing.

Like eating candy after being stuck in braces for months.

19. In fact, the term “bad sex” no longer means anything to you.

If you’re starving, you don’t give a damn if it's toast or a hamburger. It’s going to satisfy you regardless.

20. When it comes to your sexual appetite, you’re a lot more willing to try new things.

THE LIMIT DOES NOT EXIST.

21. You actually end up craving sex the way you sometimes crave fast food.

You know it’s bad when anything appeals to you more than chicken nuggets.

22. You’re secretly jealous of any couple you see boo-loving in public.

You imagine all the other stuff they do in private, and it just doesn’t seem fair.

23. You used to care about planning for sex, but now you’re much more spontaneous.

Using protection is necessary. Having every part of you shaved and exfoliated is not.

24. Even so, working nine to five prevents any random rendezvous.

Gone are the days of skipping class to get some…cuddling in.

25. And if you live with parents and siblings, coordinating hookups can be tricky.

Seriously, why is your household a replica of Full House? WHY?

26. Which is fine, because you’re willing to travel any distance for some TLC.

Tinder is set to take you 50 miles away if that’s what it comes down to.

27. While being horny is hard, you know the best (sex) is yet to come.

Until you can do the deed again, just continue to do you girl.

You may know her from her workout videos on Instagram, or maybe one of your friends has been hashtagging their fitness journey with #BBG, but it goes without saying that Kayla Itsines and her workout plan, the Bikini Body Guide, have been taking the internet by storm.

I found Kayla’s workout plan through a friend and decided to purchase it for myself. The first month I got it I was working about 50 hours a week between two jobs and I didn’t have time to commit to it. But then the next month rolled around and I had more time to go to the gym so I decided to give it a try.

Before the workout

Kayla recommends that you take before and after pictures of your body to document your progress. I did take these, but they were in a swimsuit and unlike her other BBG warriors on Instagram, I am totally not comfortable being that candid on Instagram. She also recommends weighing in.

Before I started the workout, I conveniently had a doctor’s appointment where I weighed in at 173 pounds to go along with my 5’5” height. This meant I had gained 15 pounds since my appointment last year. Not okay with me. This totally motivated me to get myself together.

This workout plan is good for someone like me who is super busy and wants an effective workout that doesn’t involve hours in the gym. Kayla organizes it by day and week, with workouts happening five times a week, with Sundays off and Friday being an option resistance routine.

Me (left) and my roommate after a hard BBG workout.

Week 1 of BBG

One thing I did before I went to the gym is sit down and read about how to do each workout properly. If you don't have weights or a big area to exercise, I highly recommend going to the gym or finding some sort of plyometrics room to complete the resistance workouts in. Boring, right? Yes, but totally beneficial. Kayla tells you how to do every movement the right way so you get your best workout in. I definitely recommend doing this so you don’t waste your time not getting a good workout in and also don’t end up hurting yourself.

The first day of the program is resistance training, which is basically jumping and strength training. I really liked this because it didn’t leave me bored as some workouts do. Kayla reminds you to not do any HITT (High Intensity Interval Training) because it is too hard on your body when combined with the resistance training. I usually do an intense elliptical workout that classifies as a HITT routine, so I skipped it and went right into the “Monday” workout for week 1.

The first work out consisted of a two-circuit resistance routine, which I had a lot of fun doing and made my roommate do with me. Monday's workout was about legs and cardio, so Kayla had me doing a lot of squat jumps, lunges and knee-us. We followed Kayla’s stretching routine and left the gym feeling good.

The next day, was LISS or a Low Intensity Steady State workout. Since you do this three times a week for the first four weeks, I picked something consistent that would also help my daily productivity. This could be anything from walking, to a light jog and can't be anything where your heart rate is rising and dropping. Since Kayla says you should maintain the same speed and intensity for LISS, I chose walking to work from my apartment, which is about two miles and fits perfectly into the recommended 45 minute time frame. I did this for the first week.

I moved Saturday’s LISS workout to Friday and walked to work and did not do the optional resistance training because I didn’t have time to go to the gym in between my jobs. Despite feeling sore, I already felt like I had more energy from just one week of a consistent work out routine and was happy that I could feel the progress even though I couldn’t see it yet.

Week 2 of BBG

Weeks 2’s resistance training really kicked my butt. The Wednesday workout was for arms and abs. Let's just say that I can totally tell how people get six packs from this program. Kayla has you do full situps (say goodbye to half-hearted crunches), different variations of push ups and leg raises. I felt so tired after leaving the gym. And by Friday, I didn’t want to go at all. I made myself go because I was going to be celebrating my friend’s 21st on Saturday and wouldn’t be able to work out at all.

My new Nikes to keep me motivated.

I think I was more tired because I wasn’t eating well at all. I am a hostess at restaurant that serves a lot of fried food and I get a free shift meal. Salad was getting boring and we have amazing French fries. I also work for my school’s student center and am stuck at a desk all day with a lot of access to not-so-great food. Since I was tired after work and the gym, meal prep wasn’t an option so I made sure I was drinking a ton of water despite eating unhealthily.

I kept myself motivated by buying myself a pair of new Nike workout shoes at Nordstrom Rack.

Week 3 of BBG

This week was a test. While these resistance workouts were the same as Week 1’s, I was at home in Pittsburgh and had limited workout space. My dad had dumbbells for me to use and I improvised a bench with a chair. I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to do the workouts right due to the small space I was working with at my parent’s house, but my dad (a former body builder) had no problem moving things around so I could workout in the living room.

Week 3 is when I became a believer in BBG. I noticed that my form was improving while doing the workouts now and I actually had fun working out every time unlike the week before. I still didn’t see any drastic changes, but my stomach and arms were tightening up and my calf muscles were starting to look more sculpted.

It was my first time home in a while, so I was trying to see all of my friends. This made me nervous for two reasons, my friends love food and we like trying new (and unhealthy) restaurants and they aren’t usually the people to ask for workout buddy. Luckily, one of my friends had also been doubting her weight so when we met up with our pals at Cheesecake Factory, we all ordered off of their “Skinnylicious” menu and I got amazing shrimp tacos.

I wouldn’t say any of the workouts got easier. They were all still hard and if I didn’t spend time stretching, it was hard to move the next day. If you’re expecting an easy workout throughout the 12 weeks, this isn’t the plan for you. The “easiest” workout is the LISS routine you decide on, but if you’re walking far and long enough then you will definitely feel some hurt in your legs.

Week 4 of BBG

This week was hard because I was starting my new job on top of my classes. The one thing that helped me was that the gym was open later than usual and I could work out at night more. I didn’t have that many hostessing shifts, so I made an effort to walk into the city (also two miles) when I had to shop.

RELATED: 10 Exercise Routines You Can Do In 10 Minutes or Less

The gym was more packed than usual because all of the freshmen, so I took my roommate with me again because I felt ridiculous doing the interval resistance moves like sumo squats and burpees by myself. This had to be the hardest week and I think is because I didn’t have as much LISS opportunities throughout the week so resistance really killed me.

I ate pretty healthily this week but I definitely focused more on just getting the resistance training done without paying attention to LISS. Since I wasn’t working out every day, I felt more bloated and just more tired.

Final Verdict

This workout is perfect if you have the time to execute it according to Kayla’s plan. She doesn’t put restrictions on your diet but informs you that you shouldn’t eat crappy foods and that she never drinks alcohol because it’s bad for you. Since I’m very “on-the-go” I don’t think I did BBG the way others have, but I fit the workouts in the best that I could. It made me put into perspective how I treat my body in terms of stretching and not eating junk food. It also made me look for smaller changes in my muscle tone to see how much my body was improving. I weighed out at 167 pounds, which is 6 pounds shed! I’m going to try to keeping “sweating with Kayla” as the BBG girls say, and keep making improvements to get my best body!

10 Reasons You're Getting Too Old to Trick-Or-Treat

We've all had that final year of trick-or-treating where we know when we leave the house in our PG-13 costumes, it'll be for the last time. But how do you know when that year should be? Your senior year in high school? When you turn eighteen? How about when you're twenty-one? Below are the tell-tale signs it's time to start handing out the candy instead of asking for it!

1. You can't get your costume at Walmart anymore.

Usually, we hit a certain age where it doesn't matter what we dress up as. We just want a cheap costume so we can get as much candy as possible without spending a lot of money. Once you're too big for those $24.99 princess costumes at Walmart or Target, it's time to retire the trick-or-treat bag.

2. You have to start avoiding certain houses.

As a kid, you don't know or really care who lives where. But once you start having to avoid that one house around the corner because your ex lives there, we recommend you shut it down.

3. Your costume involves a tight dress and some form of animal ears.

The second you stop wearing kid-friendly costumes and start buying short dresses to mimic a Playboy bunny, don't even bother going door-to-door. Because mothers around the neighborhood probably won't be on board with your costume.

4. You'd rather drive around than walk.

Part of the trick-or-treat charm is walking door-to-door! Being exhausted but knowing you're tired because of that pillowcase full of Reese's is so worth it. When you decide you'd happily trade in your walking shoes for your car, it's time to drive to a party instead.

5. You worry too much about the calories.

That's really how you know you're too old to get the candy—when you care too much about how it affects your health.

6. You reminisce about the times when you got the good candy.

Because that was all that mattered when you were in middle school.

7. You can buy alcohol for yourself.

Time to just drink wine and hand out the candy at this point, ladies!

8. Pre-gaming is somehow part of your plan.

Drunk trick-or-treating probably isn't the best thing to do since cars and street lights are involved.

9. You don't get the costumes kids are wearing.

Once you're out of the loop with kids' costumes, leave the trick-or-treating to them!

10. You've tried every candy corn flavored alcoholic drink you can get your hands on.

Just no.

It's sad when we're no longer young enough to get free candy, but think about the things we can do now. Like, going to bars in costume and getting into scary, haunted attractions. Make Halloween enjoyable and buy your own candy if need be!

BYU Will No Longer Charge Students Who Report Sexual Assault With Honor Code Violations

Brigham Young University is one of the strictest colleges in the country, with rules that that prohibit everything from men growing beards to drinking. The code came under fire this past April after a student who reported a sexual assault was suspended for breaking the rules, which include no premarital sex. Students could also be charged with honor code violations for drinking, if alcohol was involved in the alleged assault.

To encourage students to report sex-related crimes, an advisory council announced through a report released Wednesday that students who report sexual assault should be given amnesty from potential sanctions, The New York Times reports. The school will be following that rule starting immediately.

This is a step in the right direction to create a safe environment for students to come forward. The advisory council also made 23 other recommendations in their report, according to The Salt Lake Tribune, including physically separating the Title IX office from the Honor Code office, and not allowing Title IX staff to tell Honor Code staff about possible student conduct violations of a potential assault victim without that student's consent.

BYU President Kevin J. Worthen wrote a statement to the school on Wednesday, saying that the safety of students has to be a top priority. “This is particularly true for those who have been the victims of sexual assault," he wrote. "They have been through a devastating experience, and they are looking for our help and support. We have an obligation not only to provide that support, both emotionally and spiritually, but also to create an environment where sexual assault is eliminated.”

Madeline MacDonald, who was investigated for an honor code violation after being sexually assaulted, told the Associated Press that the changes were a good start. "Within the bounds of how BYU already works, they’ve made a lot of amazing changes," she said. "But we’re not done."

6 Reasons Why Alex Karev Can't Leave Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital

Tension is rising in season 13 of Grey's Anatomy. In Thursday night's episode, Dr. Alex Karev's career is on the line at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital due to his legal situation with DeLuca. Since being placed in the clinic, he's has been wanting to go back into surgery more than anything. According to Chief of Surgery Dr. Miranda Bailey, this placement is punishment for his actions, but he's just completely fed up with it.

After meeting a woman in the line at the court house, Alex suggested she come into the clinic to get a rash on her hands looked at. Not only was she 16 weeks pregnant with her first child, but come to find out, she had cancer—and had no idea. Alex went to Miranda to challenge the case since the cancer was left untreated for 6 months.

Grey's fans all around the world know that Alex is one of the best doctors at Grey Sloan. But ever since he has been in legal trouble, Alex hasn't been allowed to do his pediatric surgery work until his case is closed. As we all saw in the episode, Miranda was told by Catherine Avery to let Alex go because he keeps challenging and fighting medical cases and won't listen to Miranda. He just wants the best care for patients, which is what all doctors are supposed to do right?

Shonda is definitely messing with our feelings right now. Alex can't leave the hospital, or the show for that matter. Sure, he's done some questionable things, but he's smart and he's one amazing doctor. If he leaves, Grey's fans everywhere will lose it, we're calling it now. Meredith would be lost without her person, Arizona wouldn't know what to do without her partner in pediatric care, and the entire show would just be lost without this amazing and loving man.

He needs to stay... and here are a few reasons why:

He's insanely smart.

He's determined.

He has a good heart.

He loves his patients.

He not afraid to be blunt.

He's the best pediatric surgeon.

6 Tips to Keep You Safe This Halloweekend

Halloween weekend is upon us, and for many college students, this will be the most raved about, Instagrammed and celebrated time of the year. You throw all your creativity into crafting the perfect, no-one-else-will-look-as-good-as-me costume, catch wind of the biggest parties, hope you'll accidentally run into your future bae and prepare for a long, droning week once once your 7 a.m. starts the next day.

The excitement is brewing, drinks are mixing—but let's not let it get too spooky. Halloween in a busy college town can also bring out real-life ghouls and horror stories if you don’t keep a watchful eye. Here are some safety tips to keep your spirits high this weekend.

1. Plan ahead

Leave room for that big questionable party that you'll inevitably find when you're out roaming the scene, and communicate your openness to check out something new with your girlfriends. It's best when your whole group knows you're down to switch it up.

2. Don't go alone

That's no fun anyway! Halloween can bring in hundreds of out-of-towners. When streets and apartments are literally crammed, they create an opportunity for incidents to slip through the cracks. Bring a friend and be each other's right-hand woman, abd give each other the "maybe you've had too much" reality check you'll probably need at 2 a.m.

3. Bring your ID

It's always best to have this identification on you at all times. You could paper clip it to your bra, tape it on your body or keep it in your shoe.

4. Eat!

Eat before you go out, during if you can and definitely after. Some friends may encourage otherwise—"You feel it so much faster if you skip dinner!"—but you will have plenty of hours in the night to get loose and enjoy yourself. Top your evening off with that greasy burrito you've been wanting all week.

5. Grab your own drinks

Halloweekend brings out colorful beverages and strange concoctions—basically easier ways to slip something foreign into your cup without you noticing. If someone offers you a drink, watch him or her pour it, and never accept if they need to leave the room to get it. If it's a stranger's party with a community bowl full of jungle juice, skip it. If you're dying to try, wait for the freshest batch to come out before dipping your red Solo in for a taste.

6. Stay alert

Halloween at many campuses is so huge that law enforcement from surrounding counties come in to help monitor the situation. Medical tents are set up on major corners of the city and flood lights may line the main drag. In more recent years, large costume accessories have been confiscated for safety reasons. Be diligent, keep your eyes open and notify an officer if something is off. We promise you he will overlook your state of mind if you're taking responsibility for what's around you.

The Man Responsible for the 2014 Celeb Nude Hack is Going to Prison

If there's one thing celebrities want everyone to respect, it’s their privacy. That’s why 36-year-old Ryan Collins from Lancaster, Pennsylvania is being put behind bars.

Collins was sentenced to a year and half in prison after being found responsible for the 2014 celebrity nude hack that ended up flooding the Internet with nude photos and videos of some of Hollywood’s most famous women, reports the Associated Press.

In May, Collins revealed that he ran a two-year phishing scam that allowed him to obtain the passwords of over 100 celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Rihanna. He was able to score their personal information by sending fake emails that appeared to be from Google or Apple. The FBI also reported that he was able to download the complete contents of over 50 iCloud accounts using a software program.

While Collins is most certainly responsible for hacking the computers of Hollywood stars, he wasn’t the one who released them.

On Thursday, the U.S. Attorney said that they had no evidence that showed that Collins caused the images to go viral “or that Collins shared or uploaded the information he obtained.”

Despite their time in the limelight, we can all agree that celebrities have a right to privacy, just like the rest of us—so we're glad that Collins is being held responsible.

7 Members of the Armed Militia in the Oregon Standoff Just Got Acquitted

In a verdict as bizarre as the incident itself, a federal court jury has acquitted Ammon Bundy and six of his followers on Thursday of conspiracy and weapons charges, according to The New York Times. The six men and one woman had participated in an armed occupation of a U.S. wildlife refuge in Oregon last winter that lasted more than a month. They were protesting federal land policies.

The defendants argued that the 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge was a patriotic act of civil disobedience, but prosecutors said the seven individuals used "force and threats of violence" to occupy the reserve and prevent federal employees from doing their jobs, the Times reports. The dispute centers around whether or not the federal government can control federally owned land—the Bundy brothers and their supporters believe they should be able to use the land however they want, while the government and environmentalists disagree.

Supporters of the defendants were thrilled, and some that had gathered handed out American flags and read passages from the U.S. constitution.

Ammon Bundy’s attorney, Marcus R. Mumford, requested Ammon and his brother Ryan be released from custody immediately—but the judge denied the request, because the men still have charges pending against them. Mumford got mad, raised his voice, and demanded the immediate release of his client from federal custody. This caused U.S. marshals to tackle and maybe even taser Mumford before arresting him, the Guardian reports. He was released quickly, but it wasn't the most dignified courtroom look.

“The occupation of the Malheur Reserve did not reflect the Oregon way of respectfully working together to resolve differences, Oregon’s governor, Kate Brown, said in a statement.
