Researchers Made A Sustainable Brick Out Of Human Urine & I Don't Know What To Think

The world's first brick created from human urine was unveiled this week by University of of Cape Town (UCT) students in an innovative and sustainable take on waste recovery.

When producing normal bricks, high-temperature kilns are needed to bake the bricks, which releases a large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. To make these environmentally-friendly bricks, the UCT students combined the urine with sand and bacteria using a process that allowed the bricks to solidify at room temperature.

"It's essentially the same way that coral is made in the ocean," Dyllon Randall, their supervisor at UCT, told the BBC.

In addition to cutting down on carbon dioxide emissions, the brick is also zero-waste. The brick produces nitrogen and potassium as by-products, which are both important components of commercial fertilizers, making the brick multi-purpose and therefore zero-waste.

To get the necessary urine, the students have been harvesting from male urinals. According to the BBC, it takes around 100 bathroom trips to get enough urine for one brick. During the brick-making process, ammonia is released, creating a strong smell. Fortunately, after about 48 hours, the bricks completely lose the ammonia smell. The bricks also do not have any health risks.

"The process we use in stage one kills all harmful pathogens and bacteria because we operate at an extremely high pH that has been shown to kill pretty much everything," Randall told the BBC.

The UCT team is looking forward to see how their creation can be applied in the real-world and how it might influence the way society views waste.

“In this example you take something that is considered a waste and make multiple products from it. You can use the same process for any waste stream. It’s about rethinking things,” Randall said in a press release.

Every little step to help protect the earth from harmful human activity is a step towards a healthier environment. This brick is sure to make a difference in the sustainability of building materials and fertilizers.

Texas Voting Machines May Be Switching Votes

Early voting for the midterm elections began in Texas on Monday, and there have been numerous reports of voting machines changing straight-party selections on people's ballots.

When this has happened, the machines have reportedly included candidates from the opposite party of a person's selection, or not selected a candidate at all. For example, somebody who selected the option to vote straight-ticket for Democrats, might've wound up voting for Ted Cruz.

The problem isn't limited to one party, though. According to The Hill, Democrats have found their votes for Beto O'Rourke going to Cruz, while Republicans actually attempting to vote for Cruz saw the machines dropping their votes and selecting no candidate at all.

The scope of the problem is currently unknown, although AJ+ tweeted on Friday that Texas election officials confirmed voting machines in 30 percent of the state's counties have supposedly been switching votes.

A spokesman for the Texas secretary of state told ABC 13 that the problem is caused by "user error," though it could possibly be fixed if the state would upgrade its systems. However, the secretary of state seems to share the general sentiment that Texas won't act.

"Texas just hasn't spent the resources necessary to modernize its elections," Zenen Perez, communications director at the Texas Civil Rights Project told GQ. "Until they do, we're going to continue to see this kind of thing on a regular basis."

Meanwhile, Texas voters are being urged to double-check their votes before submitting.

Halloween may not be until Wednesday, but Rita Ora has already set the bar incredibly high with her spot-on Post Malone costume.

The singer managed to copy Post's face tattoos, clothes (holey jeans, a jean vest, and a flannel), accessories (including his nose ring), and even Post's recent haircut. Rita also carried around the rapper's signature cigarette and drink of choice (beer).

Happy Halloween 🎃 @postmalone

"This isn't a real cigarette, don't panic," Rita told the 2018 KISS Haunted House Party crowd, where she debuted the costume. "It is a real Bud Light, but it's not open, so I'm not breaking the law."

The concert was held at the SSE Arena in London, England. Rita even performed her song "Let You Love Me" while dressed as Post.

In a tweet, Rita said her fans didn't even recognize her.

Perhaps Post will return the favor by dressing up as Rita? Regardless, her costume is going to be hard to beat!

At Least 8 Are Dead After a Shooting at a Pittsburgh Synagogue

At least 12 people were shot— including three police officers — and eight have been killed in a shooting at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning.

The suspect — a "heavy-set white male with a beard," according to initial reports, is being identified as 46-year-old Robert Bowers of Pittsburgh. He's now in custody after he  surrendered, though Bowers was initially armed with an AR-15-style rifle and multiple handguns.

Sources told KDKA that Bowers walked into the building yelling, "All Jews must die." The Synagogue was reportedly full of people for Shabbat services. VICE News reported that the area, Squirrel Hill, is "known for having a large Jewish community."

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf issued a lengthy statement on Saturday following the shooting:

"The shooting in Pittsburgh this morning is an absolute tragedy. I have spoken with local leaders and my administration and the Pennsylvania State Police will provide any resources to assist local law enforcement and first responders.

These senseless acts of violence are not who we are as Americans. My thoughts right now are focused on the victims, their families and making sure law enforcement has every resource they need.

We must all pray and hope for no more loss of life. But we have been saying ‘this one is too many’ for far too long. Dangerous weapons are putting our citizens in harm’s way.

And in the aftermath of this tragedy, we must come together and take action to prevent these tragedies in the future. We cannot accept this violence as normal.

Residents of the area are still being encouraged to stay in their houses."

President Trump also spoke out about the shooting.

Pittsburgh police commander Jason Lando urged nearby residents to stay in their homes.

Authorities Name Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting Victims & Here’s How You Can Help Them

$

On Sunday morning the names of the victims were released by officials, after 11 people were killed and at least 6 were injured in Saturday morning’s shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. It’s the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the history of the United States.

The chief medical examiner for Allegheny County announced at a press conference the identities of the victims, according to NPR. Victims included a married couple, two brothers, and members of the community ranged in age from 54 to 97. They were attending a service at the synagogue when gunman, Robert Bowers, entered screaming anti-Semitic slurs. The names of the victims are as follows: Joyce Fienberg, 75; Richard Gottfirend, 65; Rose Mallinger, 97; Jerry Rabinowitz, 66; Cecil Rosenthal, 59; David Rosenthal, 54; Bernice Simon, 84; Sylvan Simon, 86; Daniel Stein, 71; Melvin Wax, 88; Irving Younger, 69.

A GoFundMe was set up to help the families of the victims and survivors. As of Sunday morning, the fundraiser has already raised over $300,000, and the goal is $1 million.

“An anti-Semite attacked and killed several attendees to a baby’s bris at a Pittsburgh synagogue,” the GoFundMe description reads. “This fundraiser is meant to help the congregation with the physical damages to the building, as well as the survivors and the victims’ families. Respond to this hateful act with your act of love today.” All proceeds go will go straight to the synagogue and the Tree of Life community.

Ahead, we compiled a list of other ways you can help or organizations taking action to stop mass shootings:

Donate to Tree of Life

You could donate directly to the synagogue through their online donation portal or you can send in a check. It’s also on Amazon Smile charity, so you could donate a percent of your online purchase to the synagogue at checkout.

Donate to Other Fundraisers

Two Muslim-American non profit organizations Celebrate Mercy and MPower Change have teamed up to raise money to help families with their funeral expenses and medical bills. The goal is set to $75,000, and it has raised over $50,000 so far.

March For Our Lives

Students and advocates founded March For Our Lives in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting. The organization raises money for intervention programs and gun violence research, supports universal background checks, and limit gun trafficking.

Everytown for Gun Safety

The organization Everytown for Gun Safety works to end gun violence by supporting stricter gun control laws. It also encourages people to vote, through get out the vote events and fundraisers for gun control measures.

Donate Blood

One of the best things you could do is to donate blood at your local donation centers. If you live in the greater Pennsylvania area, you could donate at Vitalant or at American Red Cross.

Vote

But most of all, it is so important to stay informed on the issues, especially gun violence and gun control, and vote in this year’s midterms. By going to the polls this November, you can make a true difference and vote those who want stronger gun control legislation in the United States.

HBO Hires An Intimacy Coordinator For All Shows Sex Scenes

HBO has adopted steps to make sex scenes safer for all their actors.

The network announced on Thursday via it’s public relations Twitter account that “As reported in @RollingStone, all @HBO programs with intimate scenes will be staffed by an intimacy coordinator.”

According to Rolling Stone, HBO hired its first intimacy coordinator to work on the second season of The Deuce, which is a show about the porn industry in 1970s New York. Inspired by the #MeToo movement, Actress Emily Meade, who plays a pornstar on the drama series, pushed for the change. She approached the show’s creators and producers about having an “advocate purely for the sexual scenes” on set. The network listened and hired Alicia Rodis, who is the founder of the nonprofit Intimacy Directors International. The nonprofit works to normalize a “high standard for directing intimacy and sexual violence to prevent abuse and harassment,” Huffington Post reports.

“When it comes to sexuality, which is one of the most vulnerable things for all humans, men and women, there’s really no system,” Meade said in an interview with the networks website. “There’s never been a person required to be there to protect and bring expertise.”

Rodis assisted the cast and crew of the show’s second season, and it was so successful that HBO decided to have an intimacy coordinator on set during all intimate scenes for all of its television shows and films.

Rodis has also started to work on other HBO series such as Crashing and Watchmen, according to the Hollywood Reporter. She will train other intimacy coordinators for the sets of Jett and Euphoria

Intimacy coordinators will consult both cast and crew by analyzing scripts for problem areas, sitting down with actors and bringing their concerns to the director, Rolling Stone reports. Rodis told the publication that she wants to make a clear distinction for “sexuality between the characters and what’s actually happening between the actors.” Consent is also always in her mind.

“I am here to give a voice to actors, especially actors who feel like they don’t have one. And I’m here for the producers, to make sure that they know they’re doing their best to make sure the set is safe,” Rodis said to Rolling Stone. “Here we are a year after #MeToo and Brett Kavanaugh sits on the Supreme Court. Donald Trump is our president. Now, tell me we don’t need this—that we don’t have a culture that needs to be changed.”

HBO hiring intimacy coordinators was a change long overdue. I hope other networks are taking notes.

It’s time to grab a glass of wine, your favorite colored pencils, and enjoy some you time. Thanks to Marks & Spencer’s you can relax while sipping on a glass of wine and coloring your adult coloring book.

The well-known British company started selling a wine inspired by adult coloring books. It’s literally perfect for your Friday nights as you drink and chill with friends.

“The childhood joy of colouring in is combined with a slightly more adult pastime in our Colour Me Sauvignon Blanc, new in stores this week,” M&S Deputy Food Editor Heather Taylor wrote in a post on the retailers website

The dry white wine features a beautiful black and white illustrations that has a ton of space to design and create whatever you chose. According to Food & Wine, a bottle costs $11, so you also won’t have to stress over the price.

UK artist Daisy Fletcher created the bottle’s artwork, and she released an adult coloring book called Birdtopia in 2016. According to Food & Wine, she pulled a lot of inspiration from the book to design the bottle’s label. The bottles tend to have birds and flowers on it.

“We knew from the outset the image would have a natural theme with as many elements to color as I could fit into the space,” Fletcher said in an interview with Bustle. “M&S liked the idea of a tropical scene. I drew several roughs and the final image is the one they loved.” Honestly, her artistic style sounds perfect for an adult-coloring book turned wine label!

If you want to show off your designs, you can post a photo of your colored-in bottle on Instagram with the #ColourMeWines for the chance to win a huge bottle of Prosecco. So grab your markers and colored pencils and get to coloring!

If we could turn following our favorite bands and musicians into a career, we would all jump at the chance. Getting paid to scream out all the lyrics to songs you've known by heart for years? Sign us all up, please. Being the ultimate fangirl is often unfairly labeled as a preteen hobby, but many "fangirls" are turning their so-called hobby into a legitimate career path. The same passion that these young women have for their favorite artists creates the same passion needed to succeed in the music business. Cassie Petrey and Jade Driver, co-founders of marketing, publicity, and management company Crowd Surf and hosts of the podcast How I Got Backstage, are perfect examples of passionate fans-turned-CEO's.

Petrey and Driver take us through their experiences as young college students striving to succeed in the competitive music industry, the most surreal moments of their career (hint: it has to do with the Backstreet Boys), and the importance of putting your best foot forward. Petrey and Driver stress that a good attitude and a willingness to push yourself will always help you reach your goals. If you're interested in the behind-the-scenes workings of your favorite celebrities, Petrey and Driver illustrate how you can turn that passion into a viable career.

Her Campus: What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

Cassie Petrey: Definitely is no such thing as a typical day... which is the best part of what we do. You never get bored. The one thing that is important is to make sure that you prioritize what needs to get done that day, and make sure that either you or somebody on your team has the time to get it done. The essence of our job is helping artists and entertainers...and that comes in many shapes and sizes.

Jade Driver: Definitely never a typical day! If I’m in the office, I usually spend most of my time talking with staff about their projects and upcoming marketing initiatives. The staff spends a lot of time working together in office collaborating on their projects. When I’m not in office, I may be on site at a photo, digital content or video shoot guiding the brand development and working with our creative team on creating assets throughout these shoots. I also often end up at a lot of press visits alongside our clients at magazines, social media partners, red carpets, etc. Sometimes I even find myself living on a bus for weeks at a time working with our clients to create content and consult on their brand.

HC: What is the best part of your job?

CP:  That I get to move the dial in some capacity every day. I see the results of what I do...I feel like I matter. I had those experiences at other places I worked at before, but not nearly as often as I do now. It makes the hustle worth it.

JD: I started my career working at record labels. While there were many things I loved about labels, what I found frustrating was watching passionate and talented artists get shelved, meaning, they’d get signed, record some music, then politics or a more successful artist would get in the way of them releasing their music and it’d end up “on the shelf” never to be commercially released. This frustrated me to no end, so when we started Crowd Surf, we really took the time to take developing artists under our wing and gave them a chance to make a living wage off of their art or gave them the opportunity to get their own label’s attention around the successful initiatives we were executing.

HC: What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?

CP: My first entry-level job was being a Warner Music Group "College Rep," which I actually secured while I was in high school, even though they normally don't give that job to people until their third or fourth year in college. I was able to lock in that job because I volunteered at a local label and management firm, plus I was a street team member for a lot of artists. All that stuff looked great on my resume and showed Warner that I was serious about my career in the music business.

JD: It’s no secret that I thrive on pop music! When I was 19, I landed my first job at Radio Disney in Richmond, Virginia, and became Jammin’ Jade. I used to basically stalk the RD Fun Squad around town. I wanted to be a part of it so bad and eventually, I made friends and got to be a part of the team for 5 years. I had the opportunity to host local events, school parties, hand out product samples at baseball games and eventually got to work first hand with pop stars as they came to town. It was the absolute best learning experience I could have asked for!

HC: What words of wisdom do you find most valuable?

CP: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results” - Albert Einstein.

JD: Always ask. In 2003, when the Backstreet Boys were arguably the biggest pop act in the world, I was working for minimum wage and really wanted to purchase tickets to see Nick Carter’s solo show in Philadelphia, but simply couldn’t afford it. So, I decided to ask for tickets. I was shaking and so scared of being told no. The fear of failing was real and my supervisor saw this so she told me, “If you want something, just ask. If you don’t ask you’re definitely not going to get what you want, but if you do ask, you just might get it.” I asked. Not only did I get a pair of tix, but I got to interview him...which meant MEETING a Backstreet Boy! Always. Ask!

HC: What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?

CP: We tried to do everything ourselves—including the accounting.  It's important to understand how everything works, but you can't be a COMPANY if you do everything yourself. Doing everything yourself makes you an independent contractor.

JD: I’ve made so many mistakes. How could I not? I was a kid with no money starting a business with another kid with no money. Everything was trial and error in the beginning. However, the most prevalent mistake I made, which has become a constant work in progress is realizing that everyone I hire isn’t me...and that’s the beauty in it! We all have different skills, different communication styles, and different life goals. The key is to learn how to puzzle piece all of these qualities together into one dynamic team. If everyone had the same skills and goals, we wouldn’t achieve nearly as much as we do with our diverse staff!

HC: What has been the most surreal moment of your career thus far?

CP: Getting to be with the Backstreet Boys when they received their star on the Walk of Fame. They were my first concert, the first band I loved...and to go from that when I was 11 to being on the team when they got their star was a truly unreal moment.

JD: There have luckily been so many of these! However, one that sticks out in my mind is having my name listed in the Backstreet Boys’ Vegas residency production credits. I also remember buying my first tour book at a Debbie Gibson concert—my first concert—when I was 8. I read every word front to back until I had it memorized. I knew who her dancers were, her stylists, her band, management, etc., and all of those people seemed so important to me. Being able to “be” one of those people now is quite surreal!

Jade Driver / Photo Credit Ford Fairchild

HC: What do you look for when considering hiring someone?

CP: The music industry is not an easy industry to work in, so I look for all the indicators to show that they really WANT IT. I look for multiple jobs, internships, and volunteer stints in music-related areas, and an understanding that there's a lot of people who will take your job if you don't work hard to keep it.

JD: Drive! If you want to reach a goal or succeed, you need the drive to do it. I think skills can be taught to compliment passion, but not the other way around.

HC: What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?

CP: Be helpful, and GOOGLE IT before asking a question. You want to take things off the plate of the people you're working for, not add things to it. If you can truly be helpful, there will always be a job for you.

JD: Do what you do. Nobody thought I could work for the Backstreet Boys, but I do. I made a career out of being a fangirl and figured out how to get paid for it! Whatever you do naturally, that makes you feel like the purest version of yourself—do that thing! Do it until you’re so good at it that people are at a disadvantage if they don’t hire you!

HC: What's the one thing that has stood out to you the most in a resume?

CP: Sticking with jobs for a long period of time. The millennial generation often has a "grass is greener" mentality about their jobs, and hop around to new jobs quickly searching for an idealized situation that often doesn't exist. If somebody is sticking with any job or hobby for a long period of time, I really see that as a valuable quality now more than ever.

JD: College experience. I don’t care if you graduated or barely passed, but I do want to see that someone took on internships, worked at events in the industry, joined and participated in clubs and volunteered within the music community. That shows drive. That catches my eye.

HC Wake-Up Call: People Angered Over Trump’s Baseball Tweet After Synagogue Shooting, Simone Biles Is Practically Unstoppable, Prince Harry & Prince William To Go Their Separate Ways

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds — we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

People Pissed At Trump For Tweeting About The World Series Hours After Synagogue Shooting

Just hours after the mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, President Trump tweeted about the World Series. The tweet received both criticism and support as people reacted throughout the night.

“Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings,” Trump tweeted. “It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked. 4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!”

Many were bother by the tweets timing.

“Is this even real?” tweeted Joan Walsh, who is a CNN political contributor. “[Eleven] Americans were murdered in a hate crime today.”

“What is wrong with you?” journalist Wajahat Ali tweeted. “There was a shooting at a synagogue today. 11 people were killed. Earlier this week, there was mass assassination attempt by a proud MAGA supporter. Also, a man shot and killed two black people in Kentucky and said, ‘whites don’t shoot whites.’”

California Rep. Ted Lieu criticized the president in a tweet asking in a retweet, “Is tonight when @realDonaldTrump became our President? Or was it when he said ‘there are some very fine people on both sides’ at the white nationalist mob recent in Charlottesville? Or when he tweeted CNN getting body slammed? Or when he sabotaged healthcare?”

Some didn’t find his tweet to be offensive though. Sports blogger Dan Clark said, “Why are people going ape sh*t over @realDonaldTrump tweeting about the #WorldSeries?” He continued to tweet, “Surely the President of the United States has the right to relax on a Saturday night and watch America’s favorite pastime like any other citizen. Regardless of his baseball opinions, fair’s fair.”

After the gunman was taken into custody, Trump told reporters that it had nothing to do with gun laws and more to do with a lack of armed guards.

Simone Biles Soared At The World Artistic Gymnastics Championship Despite Being In the Hospital The Night Before

Simone Biles got the highest scores for three events at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Qatar on Saturday, even after she was just in the hospital with a kidney stone.

She got the highest individual scores on beam, vault, and floor, and then placed second on the uneven bars. Her performance ensured that team USA will qualify for the team final round, and they currently have a 12-point lead in front of Japan.

The reigning Olympic champion tweeted on Friday that she had to go to the emergency room. The doctors took a CT scan that showed a kidney stone.

“We had to go to the ER, because I’ve been having stomach pains on my right side for two days,” Biles said in a video posted by USA Gymnastics

“We started to think it was my appendix, so we wanted to go as a precaution. We got tests done, and they found a kidney stone. I’m in a bit of pain [today], so adrenaline helps.”

“We were pretty good. We tried to stay focused just like in practice, because practices have been going really well. Hopefully we’ll go out there and kill it again.”

Biles plans to have stone, which is nicknamed "the Doha pearl, removed after the competition, according to Buzzfeed News.

Honestly, she is such a champ!

The Dynamic Prince Duo to….Separate?

There are some big changes ahead for the royal family.

Royal correspondent for The Sunday Times Roya Nikkhah spilled the tea on some exclusive details about Prince Harry and Prince William’s roles within the royal family. According to Nikkhah, “the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex are preparing to go their separate ways. William and Harry considering plans to split the Kensington Palace household and create two separate courts as their future roles with Kate and Meghan diverge.”

This is some major news for all of us who love the how close the royal brothers are.

“The brothers have leant on each other and looked after each other since their mother died,” the royal source told The Sunday Times. “But now they have their own families, they no longer rely on each other as before.”

It makes sense to focus on their own families, but I still hope we will get to see their brotherly love in action every now and then.

What to look out for...

Happy National Cat Day to all my fellow feline lovers!

Katherine Langford Has Reportedly Joined The Cast of 'Avengers 4'

If you're a Marvel nerd like me, you're probably still recovering from the emotional wrecking ball that was Avengers: Infinity War. Thankfully, the next film to this tragic and amazing story is in the works. Although we will have to say goodbye to many beloved characters in Avengers 4, Marvel is keeping us on our toes by introducing new exciting characters.

According to The Wrap13 Reasons Why actress, Katherine Langford, has joined the MCU as a new character in Avengers 4 and has already shot her scenes. In true Marvel fashion, her role is being kept under lock and key. Even Langford’s representatives are keeping quiet about it.

Naturally, this news sent fans into a theory frenzy.  People on Twitter began freaking out because they believe Langford could potentially be playing Kate Bishop, a.k.a Hawkeye, a member of the Young Avengers. Meanwhile, We Got This Covered is theorizing that Langford could be playing the adult version of one of two current child characters—Lila Barton (daughter of Clint Barton/Hawkeye) or Cassandra Lang (daughter of Scott Land/Hawkeye)—since there are rumors that there will be a significant time skip in the movie. I guess we are just going to have to wait for the trailer to truly know what Marvel has planned for the Love, Simon star.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that Langford will be starring in a new Netflix project titled Cursed, which is set for next year.

Avengers 4 is slated for release in spring 2019.

Zendaya is the New Face of Tommy Hilfiger & We Can’t Contain Our Excitement

Our favorite former Disney darling and resident queen of young Hollywood Zendaya has been announced as the new face of Tommy Hilfiger, according to an announcement on both of their Instagramaccounts.

Zendaya will be replacing supermodel Gigi Hadid as the new face of the brand, and much like Hadid, she’ll also be collaborating on a brand new “capsule collection” with the renowned designer. Tommy x Zendaya will be released prior to the start of the Spring 2019 fashion season, most likely in February, and TBH, we’re already counting down the days.

Hilfiger stated that he hopes the new collaboration with Zendaya will evoke a spirit of “self-expression, individuality, and empowerment.” All of these qualities are represented by Zendaya, a fiercely feminist advocate who promotes embracing yourself in a world that tells you to do otherwise. In fact, Zendaya said Hilfiger’s focus on individuality and empowerment is partially why she partnered with the iconic brand.

Related: Michael B. Jordan is the New Face of Coach & We Can't Wait to See What New Trends He Inspires

As for Tommy Hilfiger’s motivation to partner with Zendaya, Hilfiger admires her bold fashion sense that reflects her truth — and hopes to maintain that “eclectic style” while keeping up the “Americana” spirit of his brand through the new collection.

Additionally, Hilfiger went on to say that the brand collaboration will primarily be a product of Zendaya’s ideas and style. Aside from collaborating, Zendaya will also be featured in marketing campaigns for the brand.

As for what the brand will look like, Glamour theorizes that the collaboration will potentially follow both Zendaya and Hilfiger’s Instagram vibes — a vintage, colorful 1960s feel. If Zendaya gives us another excuse to throw on a pair of bell bottoms during this vintage trend resurgence, we’re in.

HC Wake-Up Call: People Angry Over Trump’s Baseball Tweet After Synagogue Shooting, Simone Biles Is Practically Unstoppable, Prince Harry & Prince William To Go Their Separate Ways

43 Thoughts I Had During 'You' Episode 8

Spoilers for You episode 8 ahead—read at your own risk.

We are now two episodes away from the season finale of You, and this week saw some major moves forward. It’s three months later and Joe and Beck have (supposedly) moved on from each other. Joe is dating the wonderful Karen, and Beck is finding lots of professional success. But, because this is You, the drama will only stay away for so long. And boy, does it get juicy…

Here are 43 thoughts I had while watching last night's episode.

1. Karen loves to organize bookshelves. I connect with this on a spiritual level.

2. Of course Joe has multiple typewriters.

3. KING OF QUEENS WAS A GREAT SHOW AND A TRULY UNDERRATED COMEDY

4. If I agree with Joe on one thing, it’s that physical books are superior to e-books.

5. Beck has a book deal! Good for her

6. Is Beck down to one friend? Where is Anneka? Did I miss something?

7. Writer’s colony…the things that come out of Blythe’s mouth

8. Blythe is probably a good friend if you want to be productive, but she has no right to delete Beck’s social handles (and take away her internet). That’s just cruel and unusual punishment…

9. “You can be the most analog princess in all the land.” Again, Blythe has the best one-liners.

10. I literally have no idea what Blythe is doing with this cleansing of sorts?

11. Ok…if Blythe just deleted the social apps from Beck’s phone, it wouldn’t have deleted all of her profiles so where did her social footprint go

12. This montage of Beck procrastinating is so relatable

13. “Inspiration calls, goodbye love.” Gotta love Blythe

14. Joe is in no place to lecture Ethan on moving too fast in a relationship. Joe is the king of moving too fast.

15. More Paco…cute. But I’m worried about how much time he spends with Joe.

16. And, now I’m worried about Paco’s mom

17. I have a feeling Karen won’t make it to the end of the episode and that troubles me greatly

18. Beck is totally making the best of this run in with her ex.

19. Ok Karen calm down, podcasts can be cool

20. Of course, Joe’s downfall would be getting caught by the read receipts.

21. I would for nothing more than Dr. Nicky to call Joe and Beck out on their BS

22. Does Beck really shower wearing all of her jewelry?

23. Why do these people leave their phone sounds on? There is nothing more annoying than listening to the little clicks when someone sends a really long text.

24. Joe is really struggling to keep his stories straight. Is he finally going to get caught?

25. Does Dr. Nicky use the same metaphors with all of his patients?

26. Blythe is totally trying to get Joe and Beck back together.

27. She of all people should see that Joe is bad for Beck’s productivity.

28. OH MY GOD BECK AND JOE ARE HOOKING UP IN PUBLIC

29. And now, they’re hooking up a bunch of other times…

30. For the record, I do not support this.

31. Uh oh, what’s wrong with Paco’s mom?

32. OH MY GOD THEY ARE PUTTING HIS MOM IN THE BOOK DUNGEON TO DETOX

33. BENJI DESTYORED 10K WORTH OF BOOKS!!!!!!!

34. “It’s over.” “No, it’s just a commercial.” Joe breaking up with Karen is pure gold.

35. I can’t believe Joe is running through the streets to get back to Beck.

36. I can’t believe he broke her window to prove he loved her.

37. Uh oh, Karen and Beck are having a run in.

38. Wow, Karen is serving some hard truths right now.

39. Karen might be the best character on this show.

40. Please tell me that Karen and Beck are going to team up to take Joe down.

41. Oh my, there are only two episodes left

42. Next week’s episode looks pretty scary

43. What is going to happen?!?!?!?!?

You airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

Harry Styles Dressed Up as Elton John This Halloween & Now I’m a Dodgers Fan

It had been decided (by me) that Harry Styles has won best Halloween costume of all time by a complete landslide. Harry Styles embraced his inner Elton John at the Celebrity filled Casamigos Halloween Party in Beverly Hills this past Friday.

The Tequila company co-founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, threw not one, but two epic Halloween parties this past weekend. One being in Beverly Hills and the other in Las Vegas.

The Star-studded event featured many extraordinary costumes like heartthrobs Noah Centineo and Ross Butler as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast and Wolverine respectively. And the very creative costume by "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev as the campaign for "A Star is Born" for an Oscar.

But without a doubt, the winner from both Halloween parties goes to the Sign of the Times singer. Taking a page from another icons playbook, Styles dressed as Sir Elton John from his two-night show at Dodgers stadium back in 1975. Because everything seems to fall in place well, Sir Elton John wore his iconic bedazzled outfit on Oct. 26, 1975, with Styles' reprising this look for the Casamigos Halloween party exactly 43 years later to the date. Since obviously icons only acknowledge icons, Sir Elton John even reposted Styles' costume on his Instagram.

Also, the Dodgers won the game that night, but the Red Sox earned the World Series title, in case you were wondering.

Regardless of being a sports fan or not, Styles really brought the pizazz and glamour that we were all expecting, and we thank social media for spreading these amazing Halloween photos.

Meghan Markle Reveals How She Put Herself Through College & It's Incredibly Inspiring

Meghan Markle delivered her first speech as the Duchess of Sussex on Tuesday during her and Prince Harry's royal tour of Fiji, where she spoke at the University of the South Pacific in Suva about the importance of receiving a higher education. While speaking to the group of students, she revealed that she actually put herself through college.

Markle graduated from Northwestern University in May 2003, where she double-majored in theater and international studies, and was a recruitment chairwoman of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"It was through scholarships, financial aid programs and work-study where my earnings from a job on campus went directly towards my tuition," she said.

Markle then continued, emphasizing the importance of education particularly for women.

"Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to receive the education they want, but more importantly the education they have the right to receive" Markle states. "And for women and girls in developing countries, this is vital. Providing them with access to education is the key to economic and social development. Because when girls are given the right tools for them to succeed, they can create incredible futures, not only for themselves but also for those around them."

She announced that two new grants will be awarded to Fiji National University and the University of the South Pacific on behalf of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, which will help female students participate in workshops in pursuit of their degrees.

"This means that female faculty members are able to encourage others to follow in their footsteps and enter higher-education, and that more women become part of the decision-making process in academic institutions," she continued.

Meghan Markle is such an inspiration to women everywhere, AND she worked to pay for her tuition? She's my role model.

You've Been Warned: Twitter Might Be Removing the 'Like' Button

Start taking advantage of the "like" button on Twitter, because it may be going away soon. According to The Telegraph, Twitter's CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey said last week that the social media network is removing the option "soon" in an attempt to "improve the quality of debate," the newspaper reported. The removal would come just three years after Twitter introduced the feature, which replaced the star-shaped "favorite" button at the time.

Twitter didn't issue a statement in response to the story; however, the company's communications team quote tweetedThe Telegraph's article, only to neither confirm nor deny the claim about the like button. "As we've been saying for a while, we are rethinking everything about the service to ensure we are incentivizing healthy conversation, that includes the like button," the tweet read. "We are in the early stages of the work and have no plans to share right now."

But Dorsey's own comments from earlier this month seem to indicate plans to do something along the lines of removing the like button. "What does the service currently incentivize? Right now we have a big like button with a heart on it and we’re incentivizing people to want it to go up," he said at a WIRED magazine event. "Is that the right thing? Versus contributing to the public conversation or a healthy conversation? How do we incentive healthy conversation?"

The news came at a seemingly bad time for Twitter, as the company faces continued backlash for its failure to respond to harassment and violent content. Just last week it was discovered that the man suspected of mailing bombs to Democrats had "an active and hostile" Twitter account, Vox reported.

The company has taken action against hate speech in the past, but Twitter is ultimately still trying to figure out how to deal with the problem. Whether or not that will include removing the like button is currently TBD.

OMG, That Photo of Justin Bieber Eating a Burrito Sideways Was a Prank

You've almost certainly seen that photo of someone who appeared to look like Justin Bieber eating a burrito sideways by now — but as it turns out, the whole thing was a prank.

The Bieber lookalike is Brad Sousa, who was apparently hired by a company called Yes Theory to participate in the stunt. According to Us Weekly, Yes Theory flew Sousa from Canada to Los Angeles, where he not only dressed as Bieber to eat the burrito, but also participated in other "engineered-to-go-viral scenarios" like helping a (hired) grandma cross the street.

"We wanted to prove a point: that staging a story, as goofy as it was, can be done much more easily than most people can imagine," said Yes Theory employee Thomas Brag says in a new YouTube video explaining the prank.

It didn't take much to transform Sousa into Bieber since he already looked like him, but by the time Yes Theory was done making over Sousa, the two were nearly twins.

Once Yes Theory's founder Zack Honarvar snapped the photos of Sousa, he sent them to media outlets. However, they didn't really garner attention from news publications until they made Reddit's front page. Vanity Fair, E! News, and more outlets all published the photos.

"Not a single person is questioning whether that's actually Justin Bieber," Honarvar says in the video.

Justin himself hasn't responded to the prank, but Sousa said Bieber's manager Scooter Braun seemed to find the whole thing amusing.
